why I love yoga

For some, yoga is exercise. For me, yoga is so much more. Yoga is a chance to be still and relax. Yoga is a chance to stretch myself: spiritually, mentally and physically. It allows me to take a risk, knowing that if I fall, I can get right back up. It allows me to know that I’m on my own journey, so it doesn’t matter what anyone else is doing. Most of the time I close my eyes- focusing solely on my body and the voice of the instructor who guides me. It gives me the opportunity to grow closer to God, because I understand that achieving ultimate peace is how I am close. I can leave all of my worries on the mat and when I leave, I’m free of burden. I may be tired or hungry, but my soul is satisfied. After classes like the one I had today, I want to do yoga every day for the rest of my life. It makes me feel whole. So yes, it might be exercise to some people, but to me it’s so much more. Namaste.

Health is one of the most important things. All you have truly is your health. What I mean by that is without your health, life is not the same. It is important to be healthy. You need to eat healthier, eating a variety of different foods that re-energize your body, drink lots of water and exercise. A lot of people forget that your body needs on average 8 hours of sleep to fully recharge. This 8 hours is crucial to staying healthy. You want to nourish your body, mind and ┬ásoul. It is important to challenge your brain and make sure that you are balanced emotionally. Meditation really helps with remaining balanced and so do brain games. I play Letters, it is an iPhone game (it’s free in the app store). It is super challenging at times but lots of fun. Take care of yourself. You deserve it!

Day 24

Time changes you. It allows you to grow and understand that you are a spiritual being in a body, not a body trying to have a spiritual experience. Life is bigger than just you and you have to understand that. People are placed in your life to allow development to happen. Allow yourself the space to learn, while trusting in others around you (yes people can be trusted!). It’s all just learning. Stay positive.
