Health is one of the most important things. All you have truly is your health. What I mean by that is without your health, life is not the same. It is important to be healthy. You need to eat healthier, eating a variety of different foods that re-energize your body, drink lots of water and exercise. A lot of people forget that your body needs on average 8 hours of sleep to fully recharge. This 8 hours is crucial to staying healthy. You want to nourish your body, mind and soul. It is important to challenge your brain and make sure that you are balanced emotionally. Meditation really helps with remaining balanced and so do brain games. I play Letters, it is an iPhone game (it’s free in the app store). It is super challenging at times but lots of fun. Take care of yourself. You deserve it!

Day 27
Growth is an important part of life. You are developing into a better you. So that growth may not be physical but emotional. Mock elections at my school are coming up, and one of the categories is class come up- referring to people who changed for the better over our time in high school. A lot of people look at physical characteristics as a “come-up” but honestly to me it’s more than that. I look at who has developed emotionally also into a better person and that’s who I made my vote for. Growing up is more than just looks, it’s everything that makes you the person you are. Your goal should be growth in all aspects of your life, not just looks. Take the time to become the best you you can be!
Day 26
Emotional balance is always important. Life is really a juggling act- you have to learn how to balance everything that matters. But it is always important to put yourself first. You cannot take care of others effectively without cherishing yourself! Now don’t get me wrong it is important to be of service to others and be active in your life, but the first person you have to take care of is you! You deserve to be treated the best, and no one can treat you better than you can. You understand your desires and needs better than anyone else. You’re special! Always know that.
Day 19
Throughout your life you are only given one body. This body of course develops and may be changed over time. It’s important to take care of your body. That’s one of the reasons I gave up sugar for Lent, because it’s part of my transition to eating the healthiest I can (while still eating beef and chicken). It’s a simple step in the right direction. I’ve decided to start working out more (I’m scheduled to run a 5K in May). It’s going to help me become the healthiest version of myself (and get ready for prom). When talking about health it’s important to also mention mental and emotional health. I try to stay stress-free and one of the ways I manage my stress is through meditation, cleaning and writing. You have to find healthy ways that make you feel better about yourself. It’s also important to surround yourself with people that want you to succeed and will help guide you along your path (and those that you can help guide). You are not alone on your journey. Remember that.
Workout
Anyone who knows me personally would read this title and go “why is Mayah talking about working out?” Someone would mention my stature and point out obvious things like my weight. Considering that I’m 5’3 and 130 pounds (this is updated, I weighed myself today), no one ever sees the “need” for me to workout. I have a nice shape (if I do say so myself), so it doesn’t “seem” necessary. Hopefully by now you understand that I’m starting to workout more, around 30-40 minutes. My goal is everyday. So if I’m my size why am I even bothering to work out? It really came to me today why I view it as such a big deal. This year I’ve been through a lot emotionally. I view it all as positive and lessons that I’ve learned from. I’m at a much better state than I was four weeks ago. I’m a lot happier now. Like it is always said, everything happens for a reason. So basically I realized that I’m so pressed on working out because of the emotional changes I’ve gone through, and I want the changes to be present on the outside to. My goal is to get stronger actually, and add muscle (so in essence I’m trying to gain healthy weight, since muscle weighs more than fat). I’m starting to take better care of my body and love it more (you have to love your body, it’s the only one you get). I’m going to change my life for the better, and that’s why I’m starting to workout (plus it helps with stress). Slowly but surely everything is falling into place, at the perfect time. Stay healthy!
