Dr. Martin Luther King Junior Day- 2015

This had to be one of the best MLK days I’ve had in a while. I went to one of the presentations/ celebrations about Dr. King Jr. at Henry Ford Hospital. It was beautiful. This really got me thinking about equality and the social issues that we have in America. It is all of our responsibility to fight the daily injustices, peacefully so that everything is able to change. The change will come if there are proper actions behind it. The desire for change has to be there, along with the ability to carry out the desires. I think that the system has to change, but it can only change by leading the system  differently. You cannot control another person, so you have to be the change you wish to see in the world. You have to be peaceful yet forceful. Start the change. It’s inevitable because we cannot go on living the same way. All lives matter. Everyone on this earth matters and deserves to be treated like they do. The golden rule is to treat others the way you would like to be treated. This will allow for change to start, even though it seems small being respectful is a big part of getting change started. The change is coming. I’m excited to see where it leads us. And remember, the only way to change the system is to be the system.
